Smart Ring App
Before situation
No existing design, no direction, no system. Just a product idea that needed to look like it belonged in the premium wearable category. The world didn't need another smart ring app doing the same things everyone else does — sleep tracking, step counting, heart rate charts. That part was already solved. The challenge was giving OVUS its own feel without losing what users expect from the category.
My role
Started with wireframes to lock the flow and key features fast, without the endless debates that usually slow early-stage projects. Once the structure felt right, moved into UI with a focus on clean design, clear charts, and small friendly details that made the app feel less clinical than the competition. Built a simple design system alongside the screens with reusable components ready for development. Kept communication tight throughout with Loom videos and short written updates so the founders always knew where things stood.
The Result
Went from a product idea to a ready-to-build app. Smooth flows, clean design, and a full UI kit their development team could build from without needing to fill in the blanks.
Business impact
For a startup with no existing brand, the design quality was the first thing anyone would judge the product on. The app looked like it belonged in the same category as the top wearables on the market, which meant the product could be shown to investors, partners, and early users without needing to apologize for how it looked.
